James, hopefully it's just a sheared woodruff key on the shaft for the drive gear. Just 3 nuts holding the gen on, and you will know. Worst case- if there are some failed drive gears on the back of the engine- you then have metal shavings, etc in the engine. Immediate teardown. Hopefully just a woodruff key. They are easy to get.
