I just returned from two weeks in California, where I flew a real nice old 172 out of Santa Paula about six or seven times. (Yes, Georgia, a 172.) Between that, and driving a 2002 Mustang from Hertz, I returned home pretty ham-handed. Nearly turned the AUDI into the curb this morning. Grossly over-controlled the 'Coupe the first couple of times around the pattern and made a couple of exaggerated pitch excursions in the flare until I learnt how to refrain from giving the old Skyhawk 'heave-ho' on the yoke again. Gawd, it's good to be back in a proper airplane.
