Hello Coupers, I am a new student pilot who has (re)discovered the Ercoupe by way of the flight simulator, X-Plane. Being unemployed and in my late 50s is not encouraging as far as there being an Ercoupe in my future, however, Pennsylvania's lottery is tonight (yeah right, LOL). My info request is that of performance characteristics of the real Ercoupe versus the sim model. The sim model was designed with info obtained from an Ercoupe owner (who also apparently 'blessed' the design), however, I find that in reading the posts here, that there is a big difference between the sim's flight model and how a real Ercoupe apparently performs. For example, the sim Ercoupe's landing speed according to the README instructions is 60-70 mph with engine at idle, yet I have read here that landing speeds should be in the 75-85 mph range. While I may never obtain a real Ercoupe, I would like to at least fly one that is correctly modeled. Can someone supply some real world figures, such as Vx, Vy, typical approach and landing speeds, etc.? Thanks in advance, John -- MACINTOSH®...because everything else is just a peecee.
