I agree with John. This is one time when a lawyer is the
immediate answer (loathe as I am to say it). Don't
mess around, don't give him time to 'lose' the stuff
further. Just make a move and try and get a lock on
his assets ASAP for the full loss in terms of value
of the plane AND YOUR TIME which attach to
his negligence.

If you do get a judgement, be aggressive in collecting,
even if it means getting his car towed away from the
business or having the sheriff seize his tools. Don't
give him a chance to shut down and move away.
