I may be wrong, but I would say that you had one plug fouled up .My
coupe will sometimes run quite poorly on one mag or the other at first.
Once the engine comes up to heat the plugs are much more happy to fire.
One plug out would most likely bring your RPM down considerably. That's
why if a cylinder gives up completely, you have to find somewhere to
land fairly shortly as you will not be able to maintain altitude on
three. Plugs running rough or causing RPM drop is quite common from what
I've seen.
