After more reflection, I have these thoughts.

Buy a clean Coupe. Then, if you're not stuck in too big a city, try to
find
a nice small airport with hangar space available at an affordable price.
My
plane is in a $65/month hangar. Farther away than I'd like but I've kept
him hangared for virtually all of the 21 years I've had him. The only
corrosion I've had was after a 2-year period when I tied him out next to
farm fields (when I went back to college). My first job brought an engine
overhaul, thorough annual and wing recovering which fixed the corrosion.
If
you have to tie it out, I'd recommend keeping mousetraps set all the time.

Pay special attention to mouse-proofing your landing gear - this applies
in
a hangar or tied-down outside. My friend, Roy Prugh, made a box of
aluminum
for his gear. The front of each box folds down so he can roll the plane
back into it. If you made one for outdoors, you'd have to use a screen
for
parts of the lower walls to allow complete water drainage. (My current
hangar is far from any grass and I haven't had any mouse problems there.)

I don't know, but I've heard it said more planes have been lost to mouse
pee
than to any other corrosion cause.

With all the inspection holes we now have in wings, if it passes a good,
honest inspection, I wouldn't worry about the wings. Do be sure to
inspect
the center section.

Never forget: Osama bin Laden said he thought he could bring down the top
third of two buildings holding 25,000 people each. He was trying to kill
about 17,000 people who had nothing to do with his conflict!

Definitions:
Terrorists target innocent people who have nothing to do with their
conflict.

Soldiers, even guerrilla soldiers, target those who participate on the
other
side of the conflict.

It's God's responsibility to forgive bin Laden.
It's our responsibility to arrange the meeting.

I am looking for a good coupe but the EOC reflector has made me paranoid
on
the subject of corrosion. Would it make sense to buy a rag wing (after a
thorough pre sale inspection), remove the wing fabric and conduct a
follow-up inspection and corrosion treatment. What is the cost to
recover
the wings? Thanks, any advice will be appreciated.
