Does this happen to everyone else?

Saturday, I flew up to Blairstown for apple pie and a cup of tea.

Nice cold day (38F on the ground, much less up there), and the
polypropylene longjohns, wool socks, lined Navy leather jacket,
nice new flying gloves from Canada, and lambskin lined leather
Snoopy hat felt good. Since I don't have the brains to ever close
the canopy.

Anyway, I was no sooner pushing 06H back onto the tarmac when
a couple of guys trotted up and one said, we were driving by and
saw you on final from the road. Just had to stop and check it out.
You don't see many nice Ercoupes these days!

Everyone wants to talk Ercoupes.

This is strange, to one who used to roll up in the club 172.

I figure I get approached at more than 50%, more like 80% of the
airports I stop at. The rest, there usually aren't enough people
who are curious.

To be fair, I give as good as I get. If someone's walking around
Alexandria with a couple of kids, obviously dad's a pilot, I invite
him to let the kids sit in the Ercoupe.
