Too true. When you consider how many of the principles were worked out after work, in Fred's garage, with a few other guys, it was his baby. Never mind that the final airplane was turned around the other way; the fact that he could actually swing it around and still have it work indicates that there was one master of the project. Is Jamineau (the 'J' in J3) in that hall of fame?
