Georgia; Weight and balance? I thought that Coupes could hold everything you can stuff in them >grin<. Seriously, thanks for asking, but I think we will be OK. Our Coupe is a D model with a 1400 pound gross weight. We also have the O-200 engine, so we
have a little more power to get us off the ground. Our Coupe weighs 948 lb. empty, with residual fuel and full of 6 quarts of oil. That leaves 452 pounds for fuel and peoples. We only have 8 gallon wing tanks and 5 gallon fuselage tank, so the useable fuel is 111 pounds. (21 gallons times 6 lbs/gal minus 15 lb. unusable fuel) That leaves 341 lb. for people and things. The 10 year old grandson weighs 90 lb., and I weigh 183, which leaves us legal room for 68 pounds of things. Our baggage compartment, the extended one, can legally hold 60 lb. So if we put the small cooler with drinks in it on the floor between our feet, we are all set. I have computed the weight and balance with the full 60 lb. in the baggage compartment, and the CG is well within those small limits we have. All we have to be careful of is to not put any real heavy items in the rear of the extended baggage compartment. Clothes, or two sleeping bags in the rear should take care of things nicely. You are exactly right about putting two large adults in a Coupe though. As you can see a couple 200 pounders push the limits of the Coupe real quick. (That is why we keep the Bonanza around, so when the wife and I want to go visit the kids, we are not limited on luggage) Lynn Nelsen N99387 52FL __________________________________________________________________________ ______ To unsubscribe from this list please send mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ________________________________________________________________________ Start an Email List For Free at Topica. http://www.topica.com/register
