Congrats Percy on your milestone! I know how it goes with on again, off again flying.
As you mentioned a great day of coupe driving, we had a lovely weekend here in Illinois. Yesterday evening around 6 PM I took the wife of a neighbor for her first airplane ride. Yes, there are still a few people who have never felt an air pocket or seen the model train layout from any kind of airplane. >From the moment I pushed the throttle in until we landed at home base 2 hours later she had the biggest grin covering her face from ear to ear. We made the rounds of several local airports in my vicinity and covered about 160 miles with five touch and goes thrown in for fun. She drove a couple of the legs and started getting the hang of three dimensional space. This was one of those flights where you feel like you and the plane are one united entity where everything was perfect and I felt like I could fly on forever. On our last leg I dropped down to 600' agl and we zoomed along between the farmsteads, s-turning to avoid getting to close, passed a mile long freight train and got a wave from the engineer and discovered a new farm strip practically in my back yard. Our landing at dusk with the runway lights coming up to meet us was the best greaser I have done in months..... all in all... it "don't" get any better than this :-) As I wait for the day a buyer for 3040H steps up to the plate, I am logging as much fun flying time with friends and coworkers as possible. I'm going to hate to see her change hands but memories like the one from last night will live on for the rest of my days. May all your landings be right side up, Fly safely, Rob Talbot-Jones 3040H, Rantoul Illinois __________________________________________________________________________ ______ To unsubscribe from this list please send mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ________________________________________________________________________ Start an Email List For Free at Topica. http://www.topica.com/register
