Hello all, With all the wealth of information out there, I was hoping that there was a list of reputable machanics who know 'Coupes listed somewhere. I would like to be able to have a 3rd party EXPERT do a pre-purchase for me. I have a mechanic here (Raleigh) who claims to know the 'Coupes inside and out, but I would like to be able to widen my search area.
In particular, who would be the best one to look over a plane for me that's located in Indianapolis, IN? NOTE: I have been burned BIG TIME in the past by a so-called "3rd pary" mechanic who did a pre-purchase for me. He turned out to be the son of a friend of the seller... I would like to avoid going through that again. After the "pre-purchase", I bought the plane and flew the it home with a hole in the exhaust shroud, bent and damaged engine mount, prop seal leaking all over the place, and much more. (Sounds like an undocumented prop strike, eh?)
