hey list,

does anyone out there have a worn out 500 x 4 nose tire that I can buy
cheap? While moving my new Ercoupe across town the old tire shredded
itself and I need one just to be able to move the fuselage around in the
hangar.

Yesterday marked the beginning of the restoration of N94893, 415G. The
reason that I got the plane so cheap was because one of the local "old
heads" had scared everyone away from being interested in it. He persuaded
everyone that it was "full of heavy corrosion" and wasnt worth anything.
Well, yesterday I pulled the fabric off the wings and found very light
surface corrosion on some of the ribs. Spars are like new, center section
is painted and shows no corrosion at all! We moved the coupe with the
wings off all the way across Fresno, about 10 miles total at about 15mph
right through city traffic.

We got a lot of looks! it was great seeing little kids and adults jaws
drop to the ground seeing an airplane being towed down the road. We
passed one highway patrol officer, and one city cop- they didnt even turn
their heads! The old nosetire that was on it couldnt take it- about half
way through it blew and shedded itself- we had to keep going. Fortunately
the wheel halves came out OK.

If anyone has an old tire they can sell me I'd appreciate it- I dont want
to spend $125 on a Goodyear 500 x 4 right now.

thanks,
