Paul, Having gone through the process of a leaking right wing tank, and
it's
subsequent repair, I can tell you that it ain't fun. If you're just
talking about a
little seepage, you might want to live with it. If it's actually doing the
old
'drip, drip, drip' thing, you'll have to repair it. A little advise if
you start
looking for a new one: there were many different tanks. Don't just put
out the
cash, only to find that the tank you purchase is plumbed differently, or
an actual
different shape. I couldn't find a tank that would fit my early SN Coupe,
so had to
get it repaired. The two biggest problems? Cleaning to old sloshing
compound out
of the tank, and then finding someone to do the repair. I was lucky! I
have a
friend who runs a certified repair shop. He fixed mine, but I doubt he'll
do it for
anyone else. I know you'll hear some say not to use the sloshing
compounds, but, I
believe that if they're done correctly, and you use the correct fuel (some
fuels
will cause the sloshing compound to come loose), I believe that is the
easiest way
to go. It will also cure the leak.
