----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Coupers, I was wondering how many Ercoupes are still flying around with the "automatic carb heat" linkage still functioning. When the throttle is closed, carb heat is applied. Mine appears to be original, and I can see why many people would not want the un-filtered air while taxiing on dusty / sandy airstrips. From what I can see, this looks easy to omit without touching the linkage that goes to the pilot controlled carb heat. I've talked to a few other coupers and seen that they do not have this set-up. Then again, my original engine made it well over TBO w/ only one cylinder being changed out... so I don't want to fix what aint broke. Andy Pomeroy N2417H
