Hi all,
Today I had the pleasure and honor of giving the "Spook" her first ride in an M-10.
Unfortunately, we ended up skidding off of the runway when my left spring gear snapped on roll out.
The plane looks fairly good with the main damage being to the left gear and my wheel pants (which actually prevented worse damage) to the plane.
Walker field is a grass strip, so we slid on the grass and into tall grass and blackberries which prevented worse damage to the underside of the left wing.
Georgia was a real trouper and rode it out like she was used to that sort of a thing! I hope she doesn't get too used to this kind of a wild ride as it is way too expensive!
Now....Has anyone ever experienced this before?
Does anyone have a left main spring gear for an M-10?
Please let me know ASAP.
Also, thank you to all you guys that helped with the plane. I was a bit upset with my "Merry Wings" breaking her leg, and may not have remembered to thank you.
And a big thank you to Bob Saville for his help and support.
Mary
