Dick,

The new batteries are built with thinner walls and thinner plates so a
25A is smaller than it was in '46. I recently replaced my battery with
a Concorde sealed unit. Their web site http://www.concordebattery.com/
lists both the 25 and 35 amp batteries as applicable to the Coupe:

Univair Ercoupe 415C,415CD, Ercoupe 415D,415E Ercoupe 415G, Ercoupe
Fornaire F1,F1A: CB35A, RG-35A, RG-35AXC or CB25, RG-25, RG-25XC

The weight difference is not great (30lbs vs 23 lbs) so I put a RG-35A
in my coupe. It is a sealed 35AH battery. There is also a RG35-axc
extra capacity for a few more lbs. You can get the outside dimentions
on their web site (the data sheets are available in PDF format).

I think I bought my battery from Aircraft Spruce because they include
free shipping.
