Hi All! It's winter and time for a good once over on the coupe. I've got the paint stripped and ready for its new camouflage dress. The exhaust has a crack in the muffler, it needs a new front seal, and a check of the main gear damping action which is currently non-existant. I would like to remove the wing tanks and clean and check things over. Can someone tell me what's involved in tank removal. At a quick glance it looks like the filets have to be removed and then the upper and lower tank bolts, and disconnect the fuel line. Am I close? I went for a quick circuit today then came back to the hangar and removed the wings. Then I taxied the coupe up and down on the taxiway just for fun. I calculate that if I reach 250 MPH I could just lift off. When I get my Warbug finished I'll post a picture of it on my website.
