Paul; There are two different bulbs used in the Grimes lights. One is a two contact and one is a single contact. Therefore I recommend removing the old one to determine which type you need. I had the opposite problem after installing Cleveland brakes on our Coupe.
They would get spongy and not work. It turns out that we had the hole for the brake arm too small in the slanted floor board. It would hold the arm in a partially depressed position and not let the air bleed out of the brake system. Enlarging the hole to remove the side pressure on the brake arm solved the problem. The advise about the pins, lines and rubbing all apply. You could have the same type of problem one of us has described. You will just have to carefully look the system over to determine which it is. You can easily check if it is the brake arm being held down by pulling the brake pedal up with your hand to see if it will com further up. Good luck Lynn Nelsen N99387 52FL
