Hey Joa,

Wrong!!! Have you ever crossed the Rockies in a small craft? I
have once from Denver to Salt Lake City, in the dead of winter, and it's
humbling to say the least. It's been many years, that's why I'm not
very humble anymore, but if you haven't done it, try it. We were in a
Cherokee 180 out of Boulder, Colo. Weather was socked in north by
Laramie, so we had to cross. Every time we'd approach the crest of the
Rockies east of Boulder, we'd hit a down draft. Couldn't feel a thing,
but were going down @ 2,000 fpm. Finally circled till we reached
14,500, and made it across. From there, it's hundreds of miles of
Mountains, most notable the peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park. One
of the most memorable flights of my pilotage. Try it once, you'll love
it.
