David, I am curious to know if you researched the old Erco files for information on shoulder harness. They were offered as an option back in 1949....for $25.00.*
So, I would ASSume they were an approved installation on coupes..... Seems like we are trying to re-invent the system again. Now, I agree, that maybe the installation, thought approved, might not meet current 9G standards....so up-dating to this standard might be desireable......But, if a coupe has installed shoulder harnesses, might they be an approved installation from the factory ???? * see : The Ercoupe, A Touch of Class, page 257, copy of Sanders Aviation, Inc., World Wide distributors of Ercoupe, P.O. Box 26, Riverdale, Md., Ercoupe Accessories price list, dated October 1949; SK-3 Shoulder harness kit: $25.00 Sanders Aviation, Inc., was the Ercoupe factory sales arm after production of new parts stopped.....Sanders, who was Sales manager of ERCO, took over the remaining parts, and airplanes....completing coupes from previously manufactured parts, etc., and selling them all over the world. Regards, Harry Francis
