Electric fuel pump in parallel with the mechanical pump?

Anything you can get the FAA to sign-off on is allowed.  You'd have to
have one-way valves so the output of the good pump doesn't just go into
the bad pump. A lot of low wing planes have dual fuel pumps. How does a
Cherokee do it? Perhaps you could pick a certified fuel system
configuration you like, duplicate it and turn in a form 337.

Query: What fuel pump snafu is problematic enough to make you need a
supplement to the fuel pump? The fuel pump is just a filler to the
header tank unless you've removed the header tank for some reason.
