Hello,/smaller> Well I managed to get grandma into my plane today. She will not fly but it didn't matter as I am not yet flying my Ercoupe, having had it ferried here only a few days ago. Anyhow, I am already reveling in the joys of airplane ownership. So far the primer has quit working, won't build pressure (took 15 minutes to get the engine started) and then as we were taxiing around and around, I look out to the left and see a neat stream of fuel squirting from the vent cap hole. In the five minutes it was running it lost an incredible amount of fuel and gassed us pretty well. What could be causing this? PS Don't think this message made it through first time, sorry if you get it twice!/smaller> Thanks,/smaller> Glen Ward/smaller>
Make sure that the vent holes are to the front. If they
face rear then it will suck all of your gas out.
Also, don't fill the header tank. Let your engine pump do that.
If you fill the wing tanks and header tank the overflow has
no where to go. So it is vented out the cap.
