I did a lot of flying in a C150 flying out of Colorado Springs- Peterson Field in the 70s. It was an interesting challenge and one needs to be cautious. I would say the performance of my 90 HP Forney is similar to a C150 except of course no flaps. If you can handle a C150 at higher elevations you should be OK in an Ercoupe following the same general procedures. However, I would want the capability to lean to peak power which my C90 engine has.
