Subject: Re: Sticky valves
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bitThe reasons for sticky >exhaust valve < seam to hold water..ie,,Airport is 500' and it was a cool day. My first indication was an ever so slight shutter making me think it was carb ice..and I did pull the heat..the 100rpm loss did seam to address the problem on the first inicident but I think that was considence..I did lower the nose to maintain 80mph and the climb did not get better or worse at that indicated air speed it was 300 400fpm. I was in cg and weight limits.. I am grounding the 16Q until its annual later this month. The mechanic also suggested reaming out the valve stem guides..All will be told at the annual..I am curious as to how the compression is at this time?? Well such is airplane ownership..Went out today to just turn her over and the battery is dead.. aviation is a great teacher..looking forward..Pete..6516Q at N85.
