Warren, the cost of flying is cheaper now then it's ever been!!! Alot of airplanes and people have been killed using old junk parts on their planes. Very few ercoupes were destoyed by pilots flying into weather, they ran off the runways with the goodyear brakes, they rebuilt the carbs, the mags, they put a old 1946 wing on a Alon and it broke off in flight. The ercoupe has the highest inflight brake up rate of all theairplanes. Why? Cheap pilots!!! I see it all the time, new radios and paint, but old goodyear brakes and spar caps. Cheap $40.00 tires and old plugs but new seats. Put the cleveland brakes on first, the $100.00 tires, the new mags, the new carb, new tanks, the new spars before the new paint, radios and polish. Thats all I'm trying to say. the ercoupes will be worth $40,000- $50,000 in the future so you get all the money back anyway and have a good safe plane till then. gene
