There are several brands of primers but all that I have worked on have an
o 
ring seal or string packing on the shaft. Open the primer, unscrew the nut

and pull the primer plunger out of the panel. There should be a o ring or 
some string type packing. This is what is leaking. This type of leak will 
not efect the way the engine runs as the primer is still seated when in
the 
closed position. It is just a nuisance. Jim N99456
