Have admired the AN-2 for many years and have set in the left seat, but never flown one. So I'm green with envy. No one's mentioned that she's a rag wing, well actually, four of them. She's a bare bones ship and really neat to fly, so I'm told by a fellow who flew two of them over the big pond from Russia to Texas a few years back. They're now at the Texas Air Museum, in Rio Hondo Tx. And as far as being re-treads, I'm not so sure they're not still being produced by Anatov, on special order. They're a real bush plane---a real hauler, and very pilot friendly.
