Hey All,
Doug's point was right on, however Paul's
original concern was post crash fire
fatalities. That means (correct me if I'm wrong)
fires that resulted from the crash.
If the coupe hits hard enough in a nose down
attitude, the starter could punch
thru the firewall and into the header tank. Fuel
then leaks all over the inside and
possibly back thru the hole onto the hot
exhaust. Besides the fuel tank (30 gal)
conversion the next best thing would be shoulder
harnesses, increasing the
chances of staying conscience following such an
impact. The easier solution
is not to crash.
