Hi Warren, what I was trying to point out is alot of the metal wing Ercoupes have bad spars still in them and there getting worst. The 415's I had looked ok, but when we took the skin off there were little bumps on the caps. I took a ice pick and poked through the cap. These are hard to see from the holes. I think ALL the metal wing 415's are bad. If you take the skin off to look, put new spars in. Why put 54 year old caps or even new caps on your plane when you can get a new spar for under $3,000 from Univair. While we're on this kind of subject. "GOODYEAR BRAKES ARE JUNK" get them off your airplane!!! Yes they will stop the plane if they don't get hot and yes they will hold it for run up. But someday you will have to stop real fast yes "STOP REAL FAST", you came in to hot, a deer ran across runway right in front of you at touch down and stuff like that. Get rid of them before they break your airplane. gene
