Pete and I caught a big patch of UP over by Lake Knockamixon that had me back to 2000RPM and pitched over to 115MPH to keep her level. And that went on for more than a MINUTE while we were flying in a straight line! A thermal with 1000FPM of lift that was TWO MILES across even at 1500 AGL! And it wasn't even a hot day, nor a convective one. All the while, the glider guys a couple of miles away were probably clueless as to the treasure we'd found, for there wasn't a glider in sight...
