Please understand that this is just one poor mans opinion. I would rather see the National Convention an event for like minded Ercoupe Owners and Lovers who wish to meet and learn from each other. It would seem that the alternative would be a small version of Oshkosh or Sun-n-Fun. That would be with lots of paid attendees who come for the entertainment of an air show. Please do not misunderstand me I love both Oshkosh or Sun-n-Fun and attend when I can. But when it comes to a particular aircraft type club annual Convention I want to go to meet people and learn. I do not think this is as possible when the event is activity promoted to the general public. I would like to see as many people from other aircraft types come, as they share many of the same problems. They may offer fresh ideas which our group may find of value. Some of them may even find the true light and fall in love with the Ercoupe when they see it in its proper place of respect and learn first hand that many of the old pilot tales about our fine aircraft are just that, tales. Good events cost money to put on and I will always pay my fair share with a smile and in a few years when I have more time I will probably get involved in volunteering to help with them. I guess I just think flying should be fun which seems to be out of style. Best regards to all, Vern
