Fellow Coupers,
Allow me to comment on the recent
discussion regarding Reg. 7. I too have
refrained from joining the battle. As a member
here in California I was surprised
by the low turnout for the 1997 Nationals. My
wife and I attended and enjoyed
it very much, the banquet in particular. For
those unable to attend, we missed
you. I was unable to make it to Columbia last
year due to a broken back. I
doubt Joe Brooks took it personal. The truth is
"things happen". As to wether
this discussion is "representative of all
coupers", we all know that's not the
case. In fact it hasn't represented all of us in
7. I enjoy flying with other coupes.
I hope to see many at Oceano this coming
weekend. Maybe we can clear the
air, and act like a club. Certainly none of us
need permission or formal
arrangements to fly with our friends. That said,
it is nice to have a chance to
meet with those whom we don't see regularly.
(i.e. schuduled meetings)
Thanks for letting me have my say.
