There were no official military colors of CAP airplanes during the war.
CAP
colors (Silver) came after the war was over. The airplanes used by the CAP
were either donated for the duration, purchased by the CAP (Purchases were
rare due to lack of funding).  The only identification required was the
CAP
emblem placed on both sides of the fuselage.
The War department Purchased many civil aircraft during the war from their
owners. (Like the Beechcraft model 17 staggerwing, etc) Their owners were
ASKED to sel. They were never taken away from them.
