Hi list, In answer to the question about the stainless installation...... I've seen it done a few different ways. However- the aircraft specification says to install the skin in accordance with ERCO drawing number ******* ( I dont remember the number off-hand). The drawing states that the existing aluminum is REMOVED, and the new stainless is installed in it's place. That's the only legal way to do it.
If you go with the over the top method you risk having it fail an annual for being out-of-conformance with the aircraft spec. (Unless your local FISDO will grant a field approval, but mine would not). Jan Zanutto I.A. & Designated Mechanic's Examiner N87204
