Hey Keith.

Yes, I have come across several companies advertising on the 'net that
offer reproduction blood chits.

U.S. Wings carries a cloth blood chit for $22.95. Details at:

http://www.uswings.com/chit.html

Percy's recollection about how the blood chit got started was correct.
Lots
of books cover the subject, but the advertising copy on the U.S. Wings
site, like good copy should, gets it into a nutshell:
-----------
"The concept of the blood chit originated in China during the early days
of
World War II. It was created by members of General Chennault's American
Volunteer Group...the FLYING TIGERS.

The famed pilots painted Chinese and American flags, and a message in
Chinese characters on the back of their leather flight jackets. The
translated message said that they were American airmen fighting the
Japanese invaders of China; they had met misfortune and needed help in
evading the Japanese and assistance in returning to their home base."
----------
I'm can't imagine how a fabric patch would hold up to the rigors of daily
use on the back of a leather jacket. There are leather blood chits
available, which I CAN imagine would wear MUCH better. A company called
Air
Corps Squadron Patches has the leather ones at:

Type "blood chit" into your favorite-flavor search engine and see what you
turn up.

Good luck, good hunting, watch your six, and Ding Hao!

regards,
Steve
