Hi folks: I just got back from our Labor Day fly-in at Columbia CA. I must say that I had a wonderful time even though this was not really an organized event. Bobercoupe and Manyard did a great job at getting this thing to fly on short notice. The California coupers have been nonexistent until now! Three of us connected at Chandler-Fresno (missed you Brian) and flew to Georgetown for lunch with a bunch of Manyard's taildragger buddies. There we hooked up with 4 more coupes and flew together to Columbia where we would meet 4 or 5 more and spent Sat night. I have never experienced that many coupes in the
air at once. What a beautiful thing it can be. At least 2 more came in
Sunday morning. I lost track but I think we had about 13 or 14. It is
amazing how a group of folks with only 1 thing in common ( the coupe) can
form such a good friendship in only one weekend!
I am sure others will have there versions of this weekend posted soon with
some pictures which were taken at the event but I just wanted to let the
world know that the California Coupers are flying again!!!
