Unless it's been changed, Columbia is a WATER BOMBER BASE. The facility for the Water Bombers is near the approach end of RWY17. In the past, the Water Bombers have been observed to fly a straight-in to RWY35, regardless of wind, and depart straight-out from RWY17.
Usual winds for Columbia favor RWY17 - right traffic. There could be a heavy twin coming straight at you on your final due to the current fire situation in Northern California so heads up and use your radio! AWOS 124.65 UNICOM 123.05 Fly Safe.. See you there.. David N6359V
