Thanks one and all for some very useful information. On the "supplemental"
elevator trim on the Ercoupe I am purchasing I expect it is the
modification
that was mentioned for early "C" models. My serial is 3034 and this tab
wasn't
huge it just extended past the elevator a short distance.

I did make a close inspection for wrinkled skin and any sign of damage.
I am counting on the annual to cover anything I missed in my ignorance.

I was assured that the transponder did work and was cross checked
regularly while flying. I trust the seller, since he went out of his way
to
point out every discrepancy and fault with the aircraft.

The plane does have the dual fork. I did spot the cable on the front
gear. I did not think however to ask if the spacers had been installed.
He mentioned that the plane had to be pulled off the ground, so would not
this
indicate that it was not nose high?

Thanks for the weighout information. I would be curious to see
if the plane matches the paperwork.
