Howdy, Steve. Most of the non-computer types have not learned that the counters in use tend to be fixed length. That means, for GPS, Y2K, and so on, that when it reaches the top, it starts at zero. Humans, being smarter than the average computer, know that 020202 must be February of 2002 if it is when their subscription to the Coupe Capers runs out, or February of 1902 if it is some old duffers birthday. But there is a good object lesson in this. Do not let GPS, or anything else, become your sole navigation means. even the "thumb on the map" can go wrong - mine has! Cross check, cross check, cross check. Only when all means point to the same place do you have a good idea where you are. Percy in Portland (sitting at the computer, so he knows where he is...)
