Yes, that has happened before. The problem is, that most folks think that
they can just substitute Amsoil for any other Brand and go from there.
You
can't! Amsoil is of a completely different chemical make up, and
thoroughly
cleans the engine. If first they don't "flush" the engine of all
contaminants, the Amsoil will "clean the engine" and the contaminants will
continue to circulate throughout and quite possibly do even more damage,
especially if an Amsoil filter is not used. I know truckers that have
over
150 K on a single oil change, and one in particular that not long ago had
his engine torn down at 409K, by Cummins. After inspecting the parts,
they
put the engine back together without replacing anything except seals and
gaskets. Everything was within "new" specs. This particular engine had
had
only one change in 409K. I believe the filters were replaced every 10K.
Theres a right and wrong way to do everything, and with Amsoil, you MUST
flush the engine prior to installation of the oil, and make sure the "air"
is clean.
I've had tremendous results with Amsoil, ( and I was the ultimate skeptic)
as have countless thousands of others. But we've followed the proper
procedures..
Fly happy!!
