Leslie: CONGRATULATIONS! I know this is one of the better days of you life. Just wanted to warn you about looking at you new coupe. A year ago me and a partner saw a shinny 415c at the right price. We had blinders on and bought it without having it checked out by an A&P. We had to spend about 3,000 extra to get it fixed up to what we wanted(expected). Two weeks ago it went in for our first annual and we find that when they did the Swiss Cheese AD in the wing they drilled into one of the spars.(unexpected) Not more than a 1/16" but this is enough to down the plane. The new spar is 1500 & 3-4000
labor. We think we found a used wing which will cost about 1000 and 400 labor. Anyway this whole annual will cost another 3-4000. Nice to have a partner to split the cost. We learned the hard way. I will never buy another plane without an inspection by the mechanic who will be working on the plane. Come to think of it, I will probably not buy a plane again because if we can get this wing problem fixed, I can't ever see me wanting anything other than my coupe. Jack R n93443 Clovis CA
