Hello all,

I'm a newbie to the list, taking my checkride tomorrow, hopefully buying a 'Coupe soon. In other words, couldn't be greener.

I've got to say that this hasn't been the best week for the 'Coupers list. I'm hardly technophobic; I run a software group for Pfizer Central Research and have been coding for 15 years. But between the organizational infighting and the endless stuff about the April Fool's jokes...well, it's made me pretty uncomfortable. I've got a few general suggestions:

Suggestion 1: Don't air your dirty laundry in public. Take it off the list to private email addresses. Public bickering makes greenies like me think I should never, EVER get involved in 'Coupe politics. You're not going to increase participation that way.

Suggestion 2: Be kind if someone buys into misinformation or makes a mistake. When you're harsh, it makes the people like me afraid to ask, and we really need the information 'cuz we don't know nuthin' yet. Is your goal to show everyone else how smart you are, or to keep 'Coupes in the air?

Suggestion 3: Like several others have said, install a good virus scanner. You're on the web and your disk is your responsibility.

That's all. I'm deeply appreciative of all the information I've gotten from all of you; both online and on paper. Thanks very much.

Regards,

Leslie, 3B9, Chester CT
