Hi Coupers, I have another question for you. As I was getting ready to replace the window welts in our coupe, I noticed two items that I have questions on. First, the welting on the new ones only goes about 6 inches below the window sill. Unfortunately, I have thrown the old ones away, but I thought that I remembered the welting running all the way to the bottom of the channel underneath the seats. There was about 4 extra inches of webbing beyond that. Is that right, or are all of them like the new ones and only have welting part way down on each side? Second, there is an aluminum strip that was glued on the inside of the outer edge of the channel on Frame D that extends about 6 inches below the window sill on each side. This strip extends about 1/4" further forward than the outside edge of frame D. I cannot find any information about this strip in the service manual, service changes, ETC. Does anyone know why it is there? Is it factory installed, or has someone modified this installation? I Appreciate your help.
