Today I got another of several such E-Mail's, from a Couper who has visited my page several time before, and just found the link to the "Owners pages". I am not sure how to make it easier to find and would appreciate any suggestions on how to make this link more obvious since this has been the real focal point of my page for the past 3 years. For those of you who are also unaware of what I am referring to, I have a list of all Owners who have provided me with info on themselves and in many cases pictures f their planes. The pages have been divided into 5 regions (4 US & 1 for international owners) to help them load faster. I have also just completed an alphabetical listing which links each owner to his info and picture if he has provided one in case you are looking for someone specific.

One of the features I am really proud of on the owners page is the airport identifier link for each owner. Again something many have apparently not noticed. Click on the airport identifier under the owner's name and you get complete info on their home airport.

For any of you who have not provided me with info on you and your Coupe please do so since it is a way for you guys to find each other or for those who are interested in becoming a Couper. For those of you who have previously provided your info please check to see if your info needs any corrections or to update any info.

If you wish to send a photo of your plane or you and your plane to me or anyone else for that matter, please scan it in at no more than 100 dpi and not less than 96 dpi. The maximum resolution for monitors is 100 dpi so higher resolution is wasted and only results in a larger picture on the screen, which may no longer fit the screen. Conversely less than 96 dpi will result in a smaller image than the
original scanned photo. High resolution is only useful when printing a
photo. At 100 dpi the scanned image should be the same size on the screen
as original photo you scanned. It is pretty close to a 1:1 relationship.

If you are scanning a document, not photo in black & white, then set your scanner for "line art" and save the image down as a .gif. You may need to play with the contrast and "exposure" to get the best results, especially if the original has a lot of artifacts.

Do not enhance (sharpen or manipulate the color) the scanned image if you are sending it to me, I will do that after I have made the thumbnail which will be posted along with your information. When someone wishes to see the larger picture all they have to do is to click on the thumbnail and they will be sent to the larger picture.

Save the scanned image down as a .jpg or .gif if line art, these are far
more compact than a .bmp and will e-mail much faster.

Thanks
Dave
