Steve, Yes it would be nice to have a copy... \Aa a youngster ---probably about 1946-7, I remember seeing at the Movies house, the standard newsreel , that proceeded the main feature -0 Maybe it was "Movie Tone News" -- showing an Ercoupe being lowered to the ground on a parachute.... demonstrating the latest safety feature of light aircraft... a parachute for airplanes...
Interesting that the ultralight folks are making such a big deal out of a?c parachutes....but I agree they could be a safety feature. The coupe was lowered into a field - maybe a swamp area - to demonstrate the safety of use in an areaa that did nnot have a suitable field for landing... Hopefully some of you movie buffs - from the hollywood area can get your hands on a copy of the Movie tone (?) News .... I expect there is a meuseum out there somewhere that would have this film..
