Hi Jordan:
>From my vantage point, there is not a lot of difference between a 152 and
an
Ercoupe, performance wise. They bump along at about 110 indicated, use
about
5.5GPH and climb best on cold winter days. As most coupers will tell you,
the
lack of rudder pedals only "feels" wierd for the first flight or two. You
will
really enjoy pulling tight turns that are perfectly coordinated and
landing in
a cross wind is a cinch. Ercoupes make you look good :-) They are about
as
cost effective an airplane you will find for the money and are affordable
when
it comes to routine maintenance. You also will need to get used to no
flaps or
the ability to side slip. It makes you much better at working your
approach to
short runways as you have to fly them down to the numbers and not just
crank
in more flap. As a final thought, you will love the psuedo open cockpit
feel
you get during the summer with the windows open.
