Hi everyone....

I have a '46 coupe with a C85... the top spark plugs have shields around
them, one of them which has stripped out and caused arcing of the
old-style spark plug inside.

I have heard the solution to this is to upgrade the plugs to the newer
style which doesn't require shielding, but does require putting "bumps" in
the cowling to accomodate the newer plugs.

My question is:

Should I upgrade and get the bumps (cost anyone??) or should I try and
find the replacement shield (anyone have one for sale?)???

Thanks for the input!
Zach
