To refresh everyone, I'm a 65-year-old retiree (fed from Washington, DC) who has used a wheelchair after polio in 1944. I have a private pilot's license re 1966 and I'm now trying to get back at it. FAA had denied in late Nov. my application for third class medical. I appealed 12/3 and with help from AOPA got a quicker response from FAA as to what more they wanted. Denial had been based on "possible coronary heart disease."
Thus I'm going to have a heart catherization next week and an evaluation of upper arm strength by a physiatrist. So I'm still in there pitching with determination. Again, I thank all of you who have encouraged me and helped with good advice. I can't name everyone. Just a few are Dave, Bob, Kim, Percy, Harry, and on and on. What a great bunch of coupers. I'll keep you posted.
