For a start, turn on the following file system options: noatime nodiratime dir_index Add more memory. 4-8 GB is where I think you would want to be. If you can, get a 3ware controller, more drives, and put your system in a raid 10. Basically, the more spindles you put in the system, the faster it will be. -- Regards...
