Hello all,

    I've read http://www.courier-mta.org/imap/README.sharedfolders.html
and searched the courier-imap archive, but still am clueless of what I'm
doing wrong.

    (BTW: http://www.courier-mta.org/imap/README.sharedfolders.html
points to http://www.courier-mta.org/imap/maildiracl, whereas the
document really is at http://www.courier-mta.org/maildiracl.html)

One user ("tist") shall have a folder that can be accessed by
another user ("test"). However, I cannot even see the shared folder when
logging in per telnet.

I'm using virtual mailboxes stored at
"/var/spool/mail/virtual/company.local"

I've created two Users "[email protected]" and "[email protected]"
with

"# maildirmake /var/spool/mail/virtual/company.local/test/.maildir"
"# maildirmake /var/spool/mail/virtual/company.local/tist/.maildir"

User "tist" sets up a folder "public" which then gets permissions
set with

"# maildiracl -set /var/spool/mail/virtual/company.local/tist/.maildir/
INBOX.public [email protected] +aceilrstwx"

The rights show up fine in
/var/mail/virtual/company.local/tist/.maildir/.public/courierimapacl

"# authenumerate" results in

"[email protected] 5000 5000 /var/mail/virtual/company.local/test
[email protected] 5000 5000 /var/mail/virtual/company.local/tist"

which I put into "/etc/courier-imap/shared.tmp/index" (noting that
the 5th entry is missing, but...)

"# sharedindexinstall" puts in into "/etc/courier-imap/shared/index"

I then telnet into the imap server and list folders and shared folders.
But, alas, no shared folders.

# telnet 192.168.1.118 143

* LIST (\Marked \HasChildren) "." "INBOX"
. OK LIST completed
. list "" "#shared."
. OK LIST completed

I feel so stupid since i must be missing something obvious...

What I've tried:

- since the 5th field is missing in the /etc/courier-imap/shared/index I
added it manually. I've tried "./.maildir/.public", ".maildir/.public",
"./.maildir", ".maildir". Didn't help.

- I set the access rights for even the inbox. Didn't help.

Is there any way in which I can log what happens?

What else can I provide to show what else I cold've misconfigured?

I am grateful for any pointers you can provide.

Marcus Mülbüsch
